My Savoy Benefits has put together information and tips to help you ensure a smooth quoting and enrollment experience for you and your Medicare clients. Visit our guide below to learn more.

Medicare Quoting

Here is what you need to make Medicare quoting a breeze.
  • Scope of Appointments (SOAs): SOAs must be completed 48 hours before meeting with the client to discuss plans. The 48-hour rule does not apply to the following:
    • SOAs that are completed during the last four days of a valid election period for the beneficiary.
    • Unscheduled in-person meetings (walk-ins) initiated by the beneficiary.
  • Member’s personal data:
    • Name
    • Date of birth
    • Zip code
    • Part A & B dates (typically for Medicare Supplement quotes)
  • List of Medications: A list of all medications including the dosage and frequency for more accurate costs (typically for Medicare Advantage/Part D Prescription plan quoting).
  • List of Doctors: A list of the member’s doctors. All doctors should be researched and confirmed with plans quoted to accurately recommend a plan (typically for Medicare Advantage plans).
  • Medicaid, Low-Income Subsidy or State Pharmaceutical Details: Ask the member if they are on any of these programs to ensure the correct plan type and correct prescription costs as these programs often assist with costs associated with copays or coinsurance.

Medicare Application Submission

My Savoy Benefits Pro Tips for Successful Medicare Enrollments

  • Online enrollment is the way to go.
    • Typically, when it comes to online enrollment there is no real room for error. Most of the time, the system will know when a date of birth is missing or a Medicare number is too short or too long, etc.
    • We will continue to accommodate any paper enrollments but encourage you to reach out for a demo on online enrollment submission if you are unfamiliar with the process.
  • Keep your scope of appointments organized.
    • It is mandatory to keep a record of any SOAs for 10 years. It is important to have these organized and readily available as carriers can ask for them to be shown at any time.
  • Send us your enrollment confirmations.
    • When doing online enrollments, send your enrollment confirmation along with the scope of appointment to medicare@savoyassociates.com. We can help you keep track of the status of your enrollment as well as store the SOA securely for any carrier requests.
