Medicare AHIP Training Is Now Live for the 2025 Plan Year

It is time to get ready for the 2025 plan year and complete the required AHIP online training.
The America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) training is required to be completed by any agent looking to sell Medicare Advantage or Prescription Drug Plans (PDP). These courses will help you stay competitive, better understand new CMS guidelines and assist your clients during the upcoming Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP).
BEST PRACTICES
✔ Take notes: Use a notepad or Microsoft Word to take brief notes on main topics and more difficult subject matter.✔ Save the quizzes from the end of each module: The final test often pulls questions from the quizzes. Use and study the quizzes to help you prepare.
✔ Save the module slides: Utilize the “CTRL + F” feature on these slides, which will allow you to search keywords and phrases to help you quickly find answers.
✔ Give yourself the full 2 hours that the test allows for: Make note and pass any difficult questions the first time through. Complete the questions you do know first, and then come back to the ones you were unsure of. Use any remaining time to go through your answers carefully.
THINGS TO KNOW
✔ There are a total of five modules that need to be completed before the final test. Please keep in mind, you can skip modules 1 and 2 if you took the AHIP training last year. You can usually skip module 3 as well, but because of the changes to Medicare Part D as a result of the Inflation Reduction Act, you should complete module 3.✔ The final test includes 50 questions, and you have 2 hours to complete it.
✔ Once you begin the main test, you cannot move from the test to another browser. This could cause you to have to take the test over again.
✔ You need at least a 90% to pass the final exam.
✔ You are given 3 attempts to pass the test. If you do not pass with a 90% in 3 attempts, you will need to pay the fee again and retake the training.
✔ Once the test is completed and passed, you will need to also complete the “Fraud, Waste, and Abuse” course to complete your entire certification.
✔ New for 2025 your course purchase might be taxed: In some states, starting 6/1/24, digital and online educational courses are subject to taxation. If these new tax laws apply to your state, you’ll see that charge at checkout.
