Employer Services & Compliance Webinar Series | HIPAA Privacy & Security Overview

Wednesday, February 19, 2020

Date: Wednesday, February 19, 2020
Time: 9:30AM – 10:30AM

ARE YOU KEEPING YOUR EMPLOYEES’ PERSONAL HEALTH INFORMATION SAFE?
Employer health plans are regulated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). HIPAA compliance for an organization revolves around protecting the privacy and security of protected health information (PHI) that the organization has or will have access to. PHI is any information that can be connected to an individual's health condition.

Employers who sponsor group health plans, both self-insured and fully-insured, should be aware of their compliance responsibilities regarding their employees’ protected health information or PHI.

Savoy’s featured speaker, Tyler Eshelman, Manager of Compliance Services at Contribution Health and employee benefits attorney will cover:

  • HIPAA Privacy - safeguards for keeping PHI safe from a people, administrative and contractual standpoint.
  • HIPAA Security - safeguards for keeping PHI specifically in electronic form (computers, networks, email, software, electronic transmissions, etc.) safe from disasters, hackers and electronic theft.
