Speaking of Open Enrollment
and Renewal, Did You Know....?
Our on-demand reporting feature puts key data right
at your fingertips. By logging in you can easily find:
- Your employer ID
- Employee demographics - Who is active?
Who is terminated?
- Utilization rates - Who is enjoying the
convenience of your benefits?
- How to re- or de-activate Choice
Strategies Cards
- Historical plan usage and funding
information
The reporting feature is an often overlooked, yet
readily available resource as new plan year preparations get
underway. Use it to help with your benefits decisions. We offer a
live, recurring webinar on Tuesdays and Thursdays in August - register here. We also have a short video tutorial which walks you through the
process step-by-step.

Mass Surcharge Reminder
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts created the Health
Safety Net Surcharge to finance healthcare for low-income and
uninsured residents. The associated tax, currently 2%, applies to
any healthcare services provided at acute hospitals or ambulatory
surgical centers in Massachusetts. To comply with this tax, we
will be billing affected clients with direct pay HRAs for the
amount due in 2014 to-date on their September invoices. Clients
will then be regularly billed on their invoices for this
surcharge based on payments made to applicable providers each
month.

Billing in Arrears Reminder
Choice
Strategies is moving to a billing in arrears schedule, which
means that invoices typically delivered to our employers in
mid-August will not be posted until September. They will not
receive an invoice from Choice Strategies during the calendar month
of August. Instead, the invoice employers receive in September
will reflect all activity incurred during the previous month,
August. Billing will then continue on this regular schedule going
forward. Please see our Broker Billing Resource for
FAQs.
